The SAFS is a non-profit organization dedicated to foster and advance friendship and goodwill between the people of the state of Colorado and Switzerland through social and cultural programs. We strive to serve all persons having a natural interest in the two nations.

A Message from your New SAFS President
I'm Will Currat and I am looking forward to serving as your President once again. The Swiss Club has been an important part of my life and I have been a member ever since I was a child. My Dad was from Switzerland and moved to Colorado in the 60's because he wanted to climb mountains. He was from the French speaking part of Switzerland from a small town called Corserey in the Canton of Fribourg. My mom is from Versailles, France and my parents met in Colorado when a mutual friend introduced them to each other because they both spoke French. I love conversing in French but my Swiss German is non-existent, sorry!
My dad was killed in an avalanche when I was a child, and some of you may not know this, but the Swiss club helped fund a plaque in his honor at the site of the avalanche at St. Mary's glacier in Idaho Springs, CO, in memory of the three people who died at that site.
My wife Jessica is an active club member and is also a board member, She currently does all the social media, emails and website updates. I have two kids. My daughter Isabelle is a nurse in Grand Junction and my son Martin is an auto mechanic in Denver.
In my day job I'm a Denver Deputy Sheriff, and on the weekends during the winter I coach for a kids ski program at Winter Park resort. I wish that was my full time job but skiing doesn't seem to pay the bills.

We’re thrilled to invite both hikers and non-hikers to our SAFS Snowshoe Hike, Cross Country Ski & Apero event on Saturday, March 28th, hosted with our friends Marcel and Julie Flukiger at Aspen Peak Cellars Winery & Bistro! Come enjoy a moderate, winter-rated snowshoe hike in Bailey, CO. If there is no snow this will turn into a hike. There will be snowshoes available to borrow at no cost.
Be sure to dress warmly and bring snacks and plenty of water. The round-trip hike will take about 3 hours, with a flexible turnaround point at your own pace.
We’ll meet at the winery at 9:00 AM before the hike to arrange carpools. If carpooling, please park in the back of the winery lot. After the hike, we’ll head back to Aspen Peak Cellars for drinks and food. While we encourage carpooling, if you would rather meet us at the trailhead, we will meet at the trailhead parking at 9:30am. However, note that parking is limited.

Meet up: 9:00 AM at APC, allows for carpooling, or meet at the trailhead
Trailhead: Ben Tyler Trailhead, 54166 US Hwy 285, Bailey, CO 80421. We will plan for a 9:30am departure

Total Length: Up to you! This is an out-and-back trail so you can turn around at any point
