Join the SAFS for Curling! Back for a second year! Have you ever wanted to try Curling but were intimidated by this very unique sport? Well now is your opportunity. Join the SAFS for an Introduction to Curling event. The experienced instructors at Rock Creek Curling will guide you through an introductory lesson in small groups.

Register by April 5th on our Calendar Event Page. Price is $45 for Members and $58 for Non-Members. Prices will increase by $8 at the door so register today!

On the ice, you will have the opportunity to:

• Practice the basics of stone delivery

• Try your hand at sweeping stones toward their target

• Put it all together to get some rocks in play against fellow participants

Rock Creek Curling will provide all on-ice equipment, including brooms, curling footwear, and delivery stabilizers for delivering stones.

What to wear:

• Warm, comfortable, flexible clothing that will allow you to move on the ice.

• If you do not wear a Men’s size 3 – 13 or do not wish to wear curling shoes, bring clean, rubber-soled shoes to the rink with you for on-ice use. Do not wear them into the building to help keep the dirt from making its way onto the ice.

• Thin gloves and a hat are recommended. Socks are required.

• Helmets are required for children 12 and under. We recommend ski/snowboard helmets or bike helmets. Bring your own.
